Day care is a family-based care service primarily for children aged 1 to 3 years. It is regarded as equivalent to the kindergarten and is similarly subsidised by the public. Qualified day care providers usually offer individual and family care in small groups of up to five children in their own homes.
If you have any questions about childcare with regard to placement, financial aspects, qualification of the childcare provider and advice, please contact the staff of the Childcare Department.
Regularly, the Fulda district in cooperation with the Fulda district Volkshochschule also offers qualification courses for childcare workers. You can become a day caregiver if: you enjoy working with children, you care about the development, development and education of children, you are able to offer children a loving, appreciative and family atmosphere For you to take responsibility is a matter of course and you are interested in educational topics.

Entitlement to a childcare place
From the first year of life there is a legal right to a childcare place. Without prejudice to the overall responsibility of the local public youth welfare agency, the district of Fulda, the City of Hünfeld, in cooperation with the voluntary youth welfare agencies, determines the need for places for children in day care facilities and day care on the basis of an annual needs planning. The city of Hünfeld ensures that the places provided for in the demand plan are available in day care facilities and in day care for children.
The city of Hünfeld does not operate its own day facilities. It has concluded contracts with the parishes and independent bodies and finances, through the Hünfelder Kinderbetreuungs- und Erziehungsverbund St. Elisabeth, the majority of the subsidy requirements after deduction of parental contributions and other contributions from third parties in the respective childcare facilities.
In accordance with the agreements with the providers of the childcare facilities, the Hünfelder Kinderbetreuungs- und Erziehungsverbund St. Elisabeth coordinates the places.
