Day of the blue light in Hünfeld
The first Hünfelder Day of Blue Light took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11 a. m. to 5 p. m. in the city centre of Hünfelder and was a complete success. Respondents presented themselves around the town hall and gave the approx. 2,000 visitors the opportunity to get information and get insights into the varied activities. Many programme items such as music, culinary delights and a big raffle attracted the participants. At the end there was an open-air service and a blue-light disco in the old locomotive shed.
“Experience Hünfelder Operators up close” – the name was the programme of the first Hünfelder Day of Blue Light. In addition to the DRK with its local association, rescue service and disaster protection, the police of East Hessen, the Federal Police, the THW as well as the DLRG Ortsverband Hünfeld and the judiciary of Hessen were represented with their fleets of vehicles from water cannons to rescue vehicles to turntables and provided various attractions for entertaining entertainment.
In addition, there was a performance of the dog squadron, the THW showed, among other things, a technical presentation, at the JVA there were found items of forbidden items to admire and to visit a prisoner's cabin. The DLRG local association presented emergency vehicles alongside other exhibitors. Also at the DRK rescue service there was a lot of interesting and worth knowing to experience with the full care of a patient as a simulation. “US-Cars” also exhibited American cars at the Anger.
A big raffle for the children was stocked with great prizes. Anyone who visited all the stands and got a stamp could participate. For the completed race pass, one could already look forward to a small participation prize and automatically took part in the big raffle of high-quality toy vehicles with blue light. In addition, the young visitors were able to enjoy the large ambulance bouncy castle of the DRK and also rehearse their first fire service with the children's fire brigade with hose and boller carts.
For the physical well-being there were various culinary offerings, including hearty “helper soup”. On the day of the blue light, the participating retailers also ensured with longer opening hours that one or the other purchase could be made and also the shopping mood was not missed.
A typing campaign carried out by the DKMS in cooperation with the Federal Police and the City of Hünfeld, which took place in the childcare facility on Hauptstraße, also received a great deal of support.
